New Library System: Home

Announcement of new library system ExLibris Alma/Primo

This spring, Parlett L. Moore Library, along with the 16 other libraries across the University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) will be implementing a new integrated library system (ILS), Alma/Primo of Ex Libris. Throughout the spring, our migration task force will be working to replace the current system, which has been in place for over 20 years.

Going live on May 23, 2024, the new library search interface will change how our existing library search platform/catalog looks and functions. This will allow for better access and management of the Library's print, electronic, and digital collections as well as improved discovery of items across all USMAI institutions. It will help modernize our services and functions and increase cooperation with other campus systems and with other academic institutions across the state.

Our new discovery service, which replaces Aleph and Catalog USMAI, will streamline search functions and your access to local resources and scholarly research. You will notice more features that will allow you to more easily manage your loans, requests, and citations. Keep an eye out for a preview of the search interface in the coming weeks.

We will be providing updates as the project continues throughout April and May especially with information on any temporary service changes or suspensions as the new system is prepared. If you have any questions please reach visit the USMAI website or contact lcurtis@coppin.edu.
