Do I need my student ID to check out library materials?
Students must have a current student ID card the first time they check out material and they must also be currently enrolled. In addition to being enrolled in classes, students will need to present a current student ID to check out material once they have a library account.
Can people not affiliated with Coppin State University use the library?
Only enrolled students of Coppin State University have access to library resources.
Non-Coppin patrons should call before coming to the Library.
Can CSU students borrow materials from other Universities?
Yes. As a Coppin student you are a part of the University System of Maryland and USMAI.
To request an item from another library, you can go to CatalogUSMAI, and follow instructions for “Requesting an Item”. You will be prompted to log on using your 14-digit barcode number on the back of CSU ID and your last name. You must activate your account to use your barcode. Your barcode is activated by registering or renewing your account at the Moore Library Circulation Department.
To request an item outside the USMAI system, please use InterLibrary Loan.
What are the restrictions on Reserved Items?
Items put on Reserve by an instructor typically must be returned within 2 hours and DO NOT leave the library. Moore Library offers free document scanning (bring your own USB drive).
Do you have the current edition of my textbook for class?
Call the Circulation Desk at 410-951-3424 to determine if your textbook is on Reserve. Because textbooks can change frequently and the Library has a limited budget, if the textbook was not placed on Reserve by your instructor, it is unlikely that you will find a copy of your textbook in our collection. To obtain a copy of your current textbook, contact the CSU Bookstore at 410-951-1223.
Does the Library have daily newspapers and/or periodicals?
Hardcopy daily newspapers are available at the Reference desk. Periodicals are located on the second floor of the library.
Check the NewsBank database for electronic versions of newspapers with a Coppin subscription. You will be prompted to log on with your Moore Library barcode and last name.
